Fixing directly to the structural steel, Interactive Columns® give a beautiful finish. No design joints, fixings or other impairments spoil the smooth, seamless effect and any number of finishes can be applied to further enhance the appearance.
A particular property of epoxy intumescent is its malleability and Interact is able to cast the material into almost any shape. Therefore, an aesthetically pleasing solution can be provided for many different architectural features without the fire protection integrity being breached in any way.
Interactive Columns are by far our most popular product. Considering on one hand their simple elegance and versatility whilst on the other their immense robustness and longevity it’s no wonder that architects specify Interactive Columns in a diverse range of projects. Typical developments include hotel atriums, airport buildings, shopping malls and office complexes.
Its resilience makes it ideal for fire protecting external feature columns and areas of high human traffic, and it is also able to withstand jet washing when used in clean rooms for food processing and hospitals for example. It is also very chemically resistant with a C5 environmental rating and is the best choice for protecting steel in harsh atmospheres.
